Yes. This washer senses the load then locks for the entire cycle. 
If opened during sensing (even if immediately closing the lid again) the control panel flashes until the start button is pushed again.

The door makes an auditable sound and has a led indicator that the door is locked. You have to press and hold a pause button if you want to open the door before cycle has finished.
