“I just purchased this dryer and noticed that after I power it off, portions of the lcd display remain slightly lit up after turning off the lights in the room. Is this normal? Also, there's a buzzing sound while it's running (not humming). Is this ok?”

Yes. Display is glow in the dark. There is no inside light. Inside appears to have some luminescence also.
