They both have the same level of antivirus protection. Total Protection offers features beyond antivirus like a password manager, parental controls, anti-spam, and encryption for extra protection for sensitive files. I recommend installing either to see if it removes the virus. It is harder to remove a virus that is already infecting a system however. If it doesn't work, I would recommend signing up for auto-renewal (Settings/Auto-Renewal Settings) because then you are enrolled in our Virus Protection Pledge, which guarantees we can remove a virus or your money back. You will have to give us your credit card number, but we won't charge you until your subscription is about to expire and we warn you 30 days before.
