Questions & Answers (35)
- A: Yes! But you actually don't need to wait for the first to expire before loading the second. You can redeem as many years as you like right away. Each new one you redeem will add 1 year to your subscription, no matter when it is due to expire. You won't lose any time by loading them all at the same time. For example if you buy 3 licenses right now, you can install one now and your expiration date will be December 2020. When you load the next, your expiration will now be December 2021. And when you load the next, it will be December 2022. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Q: Will this work with windows 10 s mode ? (1 answers)
A: No. Microsoft doesn't allow any security software to operate in 10s mode. However, if you switch from 10s mode, then you can use this for protection. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.- A: Yes - you can actually install them all right away. Each time you redeem a new code, it asks you if you want to "Extend your current subscription" or "Begin a new subscription". If you choose to extend, it will move that expiration out by 1 year from the current expiration date, not from the actual day you do it. So the first one you install will cover you until Nov/Dec of 2021. The next one will move the date to the same day in 2022. And then the next one will extend to 2023.
- A: Yes! Our software will handle viruses that already exist, as well as protect you from new ones. However, it is easier block than to clean and no software can stop 100% of viruses. What you can do if you are willing is to sign up for auto-renew (this does require giving us a credit card). By signing up for auto-renew, you are automatically enrolled in our Virus Protection Pledge, which says we can remove any virus or your money back. So sign up for auto-renew and if the software doesn't remove the virus on its own, you can contact our support team at service.mcafee.com or 866-622-3911. They will also try and remove the virus. If they cannot, you get your money back. If they can, then you are good to go. Also, you can cancel auto-renew at any time, even after we have cleaned your system, so you won't be automatically charged if you aren't comfortable with that. Please let me know if I can help further.
Q: does one year subscription start from the day you download or the day you buy the item? (1 answers)
A: The subscription starts when you download. You can buy at any time and the code doesn't expire. You can install when you are ready. If you already have McAfee Antivirus (1 Device) and are waiting for the subscription to end before you install this, you can install at any time and not lose any time on your subscription. It will add a year to your subscription term. But if you are using some other software or are waiting for any other reason, feel free to wait as long as you need. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.Q: will this work on windows XP OS (4 answers)
A: Unfortunately, no. We only validate back to Windows 7. I'm sorry we couldn't help you, but let me know if you have any other questions.Q: I have an Acer Chromebook is there an code included I don't have a CD on my Chromebook? (3 answers)
A: Unfortunately, this doesn't support Chromebook. McAfee Antivirus is for PC only, but even our other products aren't validated on Chromebooks. We validate on Windows, Mac OS, Android and iOS operating systems. Chromebook uses it's own proprietary operating system. To answer your question, this does come with a code to download not a CD, but it's a moot point if you want to install it on a Chromebook.Q: Will this work with Windows 11? (1 answers)
A: Yes, McAfee is compatible with Windows 11
