Use safari browser to download , when I tried using chrome it asked me to call the call center and the person from there was asking additional money citing viruses that need additional software. When I tried thru other browser it works fine, beware of scamsters they are everywhere

We constantly update our software and push out those updates so by the time a CD hit the retail shelf, the software would already be out of date and you would need to download the latest anyway. However, this version is a physical box that is mailed to you with a key card inside that has the download code on it. So you could wrap the box as a gift or you could place the key card in a stocking. Instructions come on the card, but just make sure the person you are giving this to goes to https://www.mcafee.com/activate to redeem the code. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
