Safe Connect is a Virtual Private Network (VPN) product. This is designed to encrypt communications between you and whomever you are contacting (via the Internet or other means). The purpose is to hide any information you are sending out into the world so if someone is able to view it, they won't know what they are seeing. McAfee Total Protection is an antivirus product. It is designed to block viruses from infecting your devices. It monitors any files being added to the system via the Internet, direct connect, or removable media and blocks them from causing damage. It also has features to help you stay safe while online, like warning about risky sites when you click on them and a password manager to help you create and store strong unique passwords for all your online sites, so you don't have to remember them. We highly recommend an antivirus product for every device you connect to the internet with. A VPN product is mostly needed when you are connecting to unsafe public hotspots like at coffee shops or airports, but also ensures a safe connection from home, in case your home network gets compromised.
