It can but it’s not very safe. Just be careful, don’t go clicking on ads and random stuff. I would recommend protection.

What you get when you purchase is a product key that you bring to https://www.mcafee.com/activate to redeem and begin downloading the product. Microsoft Windows comes with Defender, which will do a decent job of keeping you safe until you have a chance to install McAfee. I would recommend installing McAfee as soon as you are able, though, as we can offer better protection than Windows Defender can. Please let me know if you have any further questions.
