They're actually a light shade of purple, rather than pink. That was the color of Batman's gloves in his debut in Detective Comics #27, 1939.

The purple gloves were Batman's first trophy. He took them from the Joker. Kendel W. Houts mentions that Batman wore them in *Detective Comics #27*, which was before the Joker appeared. I really like this first appearance look of Batman, as well as the version from *Zero Year*.
