What is the width sticking out from tub null

I don't have a tub. We use this item in shower.

I didn't measure this when I was using it, but my bathroom is small, very small. I probably had 3 ft. from the outside edge of the seat to the vanity. Just kept it sitting inside the tub when not using so it was out of the way.
