“I will feed audio via optical audio from a Bose home system. Is the volume control on this unit what will adjust volume to the wireless Sony bluetooth headphones assuming the Bose will be set to whatever volume those watching TV with Bose want?”

Haven't hooked the unit up yet, but I did a quick check in the manual: Per the manual, on page 5, referring to Digital Optical Audio Out: "The volume of optical output is typically fixed and TV speakers can be controlled independently as necessary." and on page 11, referring to Adjusting the Volume: "Volume can be individually adjusted on each set of headphones paired with the Connect using the built-in volume controls on the headphone."
