I do not think this would work - you have to set the device to "transmit" or "receive". Even through the hard wires, I believe the alternative outputs will be inactive. Luckily Best Buy has a favorable return policy, so you could always try it and return if it doesn't work. I have it set up on a splitter with my record player - so it goes record player -> splitter -> device 1, hard wired speaker / device 2 MEE -> MEE pairs to bluetooth speaker. and that works for me. maybe a similar set up would work for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sounds like original questioner's need is similar to mine: run regular speakers in parallel w/ Bluetooth (in my case, headphones). I also thought I could wire TV out to MEE in (for BT), then MEE out to sound system in. Thanks to first answerer, Kell, for the splitter idea! (BlueRigger makes one.) TV optical out to optical splitter: 1) Goes to optical in on sound system for regular speakers; 2) Goes to optical in on MEE for BT speaker or headphones. Should work!
