“I have Spectrum Cable. If I run an Optical cable from the cable box output to the Transmitter, will it cut out the sound on the TV. I am running HDMI from the cable to the TV now and assume that it should allow sound to both TV and Earphones.”

• My tv has optical. I ran my transmitter from there. Kept tv audio on auto, will play thru both unless i turn the tv volume down.

• You are correct, using the optical connection generally allows you to route sound output to the transmitter (and to your headphones) without cutting the sound off from your TV.
