It will work for all TV apps including Netflix. If you end up connecting to your TV via the Optical jack and don't hear audio when using Netflix, make sure to set the "optical audio output format" setting in your TV's settings menu to "PCM" or "stereo" WHILE the Netflix app is open and streaming audio. Some TVs can be a little touchy with changing settings while apps are not running.
