• the battery will charge the headset as you play, letting you play for longer before the headset dies.

• The battery helps it last longer without needing to recharge. It’ll use the battery of the oculus itself and then the battery from the strap is a back up. I highly recommend getting the strap with the battery. Absolutely worth the price.

• The elite strap with battery provides a more secure fit *and* extends the playtime session when using the headset. If you plan to use the headset when attached to a PC, the battery isn’t necessary.
