Unfortunately, you have to buy cards like Beat Saber. That being said, depending on what console you get, you should still be able to access a store for the games. There are free-to-play games for VR

There are thousands of free games to play. You can download them on the system, or search for games on the web browser to play online.

Yes it does have built in games and you can download more from the apps in the headset but the best way is to download the app to your phone that way you can browse through them a lot of games have free trials. Just look up beginners guide on YouTube tons of info
