To play stand-alone games on the Quest 2, no, you do not need to purchase anything additional. In the box you get the headset, a charger, two controllers, and a "glasses spacer" to help if you need to wear glasses while using the headset. If you want to play computer-based VR games through the Quest 2, you will need additional software or hardware. You can either purchase software to make this work wirelessly (a Google search will tell you all you need to know on how to do this), or you can buy a USB-C cable to connect the Quest 2 to your computer (of course, your computer must support USB-C for this to work). Oculus has its own USB-C cable called the Link (expensive but good), but Google can also point you to lower-priced options.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In the box you receive a short usb c cable to charge the quest 2 with and two motion controllers for the left and right hand. In there you also get a glasses extension gadget to help those that need glasses while using the quest 2, but it doesn't work for me because my frames are a little bigger than normal frames. If you plan on doing standalone you don't require anything else but if you plan on using this on a PC you might want to either buy the oculus link cable or just purchase the virtual desktop app on the quest store ( as long as you have fast wifi this shouldn't be an issue) granted the oculus link cable is expensive but there are other options to use instead of the oculus link cable in general. They have a recommended Anker cable I believe.
