QuestionCan I use this cable with my Oculus rift s? My rift s cable broke and it being out of stock or cost as much as a new headset, I'm really considering buying this.

- Answer I know for a fact you’re right but this is a c port and the mini display port on the rift s isn’t the same port … you could try a mini display port but I can’t confirm that is correct ../only that this doesn’t work and that I’ve owned both. I bought a used cable on eBay for mine but it was a lot of $

QuestionI am a 70 yr old retired, disabled veteran. I am totally new to VR. I am not a gamer, I just want to see the things that I will never be able to travel to see i.e. Grand canyon, Yellowstone, etc. Will I be able to do that on this equipment?

- Answer I am 61, and I am not a real gamer, but I love my Oculus Quest 2. There are a number of free apps that will let you go to places, like out of space! And while no one could go out during the pandemic, you could talk to your friends through the apps on the system as if they were standing right in front of you. I love my Quest 2 and it is one of the more affordable game headsets out there.

QuestionI have a HP Omen 15 Ryzen 7 4800H 1660ti gaming laptop that has a USB C port, but it is for charging only. Is this cable compatible with Ryzen CPU's or Intel's with data transfer?

- Answer It should be compatible but I wouldn't recommend it as a long term solution because as you said its meant for charging and not mass data transfer

QuestionDoes it come with the charger cube because I lost my charger in DC so I need a new one soon because my headset is going to be useless without it at this point

- Answer It does not come with a charger block, however, plugging it into your computer and leaving it alone for a while will charge it. My recommendation is you get a regular usb to usb-c to charge it. That’s what it do.

- Answer A standard Pc will not be capable of keeping up with the demands of virtual reality. As a stand-alone, quest is great, but if you want to use Rift or steam apps, a decent graphics card, and more RAM is required.

- Answer Yes, but it will need to be a high quality one for it to be able to handle the bandwidth of sending video and inputs back and forth between the computer and headset.

- Answer It's not a clip, it's just a silicon band that secures with velcro. But yes, mine was included with the cable!

- Answer I've read that the adapters can work, but it is highly dependent on the adapter used and the ports you plug it into, and power delivery is often not good or even available. No first hand knowledge, though.

- Answer The same cables should work for both Quests, that said, some (USB 2.0 cables mostly) might not work as well on the Quest 2 as they did on the Quest 1 because the Quest 2 will be sucking up more data than the Quest 1 and USB2 cable might not always be a big enough straw.

- Answer While using this cable as designed you are viewing display provided from your PC. You can transfer from PC to Quest as well, but only similar to an SD card or cell phone. If your PC is on wireless you are still playing on wireless, and the converse is also true. Wired PC wired to Quest yields a wired experience.
