No, like the Quest 2 you do not need a computer to run it, but if you own one you get some added benefits. Running more power-hungry applications or installing apps that wouldn't be installable from the quest store. You would also lose out on some features from apps that can only be used on the computer. this device is not for gaming and more for work.
