• Most likely a meta account but not necessarily a Facebook. Same as the Quest 2 after more recent updates.

• I could be wrong but I think you need a Meta account so you have some way to prove you own the apps you buy or when you are interacting with other communities. BUT Meta account is not the same as a Facebook account, you use to have a Facebook account but that is no longer required.

• It's a guarantee. All Quest products require a meta/facebook account in good standing.
