“Where would that separate red wire even go to? There isn’t anywhere to attach it to a radio and what 12v place would it go? It doesn’t make any sense?”

• You connect it to the red wire on the aftermarket stero then run it to the fuse box. You'll connect the other end to a fuse that turns on and off with the ignition. There should be an adapter that comes with it that allows you to connect it to the fuse.
