I just recently updated to a new aftermarket stereo system in my BMW. This was adapter that I bought, plugs into the factory harness to wire in an aftermarket stereo without cutting the harness in the car. I believe this adapter is also for Mercedes and VW's. The instructions for the wiring leads is on the manufacturers website specific to your car, you'll find the website on the paperwork that comes with the plug harness. Did my car myself, if your mechanically inclined it's pretty straight forward and easy, instructions were very clear. Good luck!
