Both prior responses completely missed the point. 1) The current situation is NOTHING like prior console shortages. Not even close. 2) Retailers and manufacturers ARE to blame for not coming up with better ordering systems designed to thwart scalpers using bots to snag up most stock instantly (& then jacking up prices on after market sales sites to 2-3 times or more MSRP). This wouldn’t even be that hard but they simply don’t care because they sell thru their stock and make their profit quicker while the consumer gets bent over.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.100% fact. Best Buy is doing their own scalping (hiding products behind TotalTech paywall), which is why they're not interested in trying to stop, the hand-over-fist profit they are also making. This is greed rearing its ugly head and many Companies are taking advantage of the cash grab.. Remember this people.. If our economy does ever get back to normal, companies like this (I'm looking at you BB, will be ran out of town.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is a huge shipping vessel backlog at both Los Angeles area ports. If product or its parts are on any of these containers, you can’t blame BB. BB can’t control that nightmare. Nor can BB guarantee that a preorder will be shipped on time if the product is not being delivered by the expected launch date. Don’t know how it affects this particular item, but many many many products are on those 157+ vessels waiting to dock and waiting for crews to offload and deliver.
