• I had this issue! Although my particular situation was that; I’d ALREADY had a pre-existing Microsoft Account however, none of my information was the same, it’d been years since I’d used it AND…. Unfortunately, I had been severely hacked (no worries, not by an outsider but, by someone I know), so literally ALL my information was compromised. In addition to having accounts created as though they were my own; passwords changed, password hints changed, etc etc. Eventually, I had to purchase all new devices, create new accounts, change providers, all equipment. Essentially everything except my name! It was because of this that: not only did I KNOW I’d previously had a Microsoft Account; but I needed to check and ensure that, no additional accounts with ANY of my previous information, phone numbers, personal identifiers, etc existed on the Microsoft Platform. I WAS EASILY ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF ALL CONCERNS BUTTTTTT… I would 100% call their customer service support number and speak to a real person! The AI generated system doesn’t quite know how to navigate this yet. Even if you begin by using the “chat,” function (which I think they test to get everyone to do initially- it was difficult for me to find a good number where I could speak to someone personally); but IF YOU begin with the chat; keep asking for an agent OR, it will hopefully get to a point where the automated system understands it cannot help you do, will then fwd you to a real person. Once you are able to speak to someone - it’s super easy! It doesn’t matter if you don’t remember the information. Or, as in my case; I wasn’t even aware of the fraudulent accounts created using my likeness; as long as you give them enough information about you, previous phone numbers or emails that might have been linked to a previous account; They can find it!
