- Answer Having just bought a new laptop and purchasing the Microsoft Office application from Best Buy I had them do all the install. My recommendation is to call or stop by your nearest Best Buy store and find out. They may require you purchase the Geek Squad tech support. From many years of doing business with Best Buy and as a former IT manager I highly recommend the Geek Squad support - they are reliable and you can talk face-to-face (duly masked, of course) with their team of technicians and they are nearby.

- Answer This is the most recent version of Office, but will always be Office 2019. In contrast Microsoft 365 will always be the most up to date version.

- Answer 365 is the monthly subscription version which you can log into on any device. If you save your work on a cloud, such as OneDrive, then you can access it from any device just by logging in. OneDrive is the Microsoft cloud, so it would have the same password. Just plain Microsoft Office (NOT 365) "the lifetime purchase" stays on one computer, unless you buy the really expensive one. To use another computer, Office would need to be on that computer too. Plus import your data either by flash drive or cloud. I hope this helped.

- Answer Yes. You will receive an email with download instructions and the activation code. I simply forwarded that to the person for whom I bought the gift and it worked fine. (As a side note, I also bought a computer as a gift and trying to allow the other person to download the free/included Microtrend anti-virus software has not been easy. Still waiting on help from Best Buy for that.)

- Answer Everything you install will take up memory in some way or another. However, with those specs, that computer should handle office programs just fine without being bogged down. (As long as its not a lemon or doesn’t have too many other programs in it already bogging it down). Hope this helps.

QuestionWhat is the difference between Office 2019 Home and Student for $ 149.99 and the one for $69.99?

- Answer The one for $149.99 is a permanent license, you install and own as long as you want to keep it on the computer. One time payment. The one for $69.99 is a 12 month subscription, you have to renew the subscription for another $69.99 after a year to continue using the programs on the computer. The subscriptions are a rip off if you plan to use the program for more than two years. The permanent install for $150 has already paid for itself, Bc two years of the subscription is $140. So if you are using it for less than 2 years, the subscription is better ($10 cheaper). For more than 2 years, the permanent install is better (by year three it’s $60 cheaper). Hope that helps.
