• Having only a fraction of the (much larger, heavier) output of the factory-supplied brick, expect this munchkin to take a day or so to fully recharge...and keep to power "off" to prevent overload/bad smells

• If your surface power supply has a standard two prong 110V AC power adapter (or 3-prong if it has the ground), then yes. The only question is how long you can operate your device before the (small) battery is exhausted. It will however allow you to perform an orderly shutdown of your equipment if the power goes out, but it won't keep you surfing all night.
