There are a few big differences. Surface has a USB port for flash drives, external hard drives, mice, and keyboards. iPad does not. You can also enjoy Office-document compatibility immediately without purchasing add-on software. Surface allows almost all the same fun the iPad does, but also packs a punch for utilities. If you like Windows 8 on a non-touchscreen device, you will love the Surface!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The surface does run on a variant of the windows 8 format. You can use apps but can't use programs. I have found that I can do almost anything on my RT that I can on my windows 8 laptop. I actually use it more than my laptop now.
