Hi Bob H. Thanks for your post and interest in Surface RT. In regards to your question, the Windows Store does continue to grow and is frequently updated. There are many apps that are supported on both Windows RT and Windows 8. When viewing apps on a Windows 8 device, you can check the app details for information on whether or not the app is also compatible with Surface RT (ARM devices). I recommend checking out the link below for more info on Windows RT. WinRT FAQ http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-rt-faq I hope this is helpful to you. Have a good one!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Windows 8 x86/x64 apps only run on windows 8 pro For apps to run on windows rt, they need to be compiled for the ARM processor. For instance Mozilla Firefox is launching a new app in the App Store but is not RT comparable Same goes for chrome
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From what I've seen the vast majority of 'apps' in the store run on both ARM and 32 and 64-bit x86. I think I've seen a few exceptions that are x86 only, but I wouldn't swear to it, but I think every 'app' I've installed on 8 also installs on RT. That said, full WIndows 8 tablets like Surface Pro run ANY software, not just programs in the Windows store.
