• Yes, you may watch movies, as long as the file format is supported by Xbox Video. Not sure of the full list of supported files. If you want to be sure your particular video is supported, then you should choose something with full Windows 8, such as the Surface Pro or Pro 2.

• See no reason why you wouldn't be able to. I use my surface for EVERYTHING. And yes, it does work like a PC.
