The Surface cannot connect to every printer out there, as some of the older drivers are not compatible with the RT software. I, personally, can print to my HP wireless printer. When I set up the Surface RT, it automatically loaded the HP printer app. I hope this helps you out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works well with most printers. Windows will install the necessary drivers but you won't be able to install the printers full featured software. Windows' generic printer/scan/fax/copy works fine though. I have an Office Jet 6700, connected wirelessly.

To add to what has already been posted, I recommend visiting the Windows Compatibility Center for more details on what printers are compatible with Surface, as voted by other users. You can also search for specific details on a printer you may be interested in.
