This tablet has the microSD card slot. Transfer files to and from Surface using the full-size USB port. Watch movies, show photos, or present your work on the big screen through the video out port. I never play game but I think it is better playing game on desktop or laptop.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the RT, and it can play basically anything from a flash drive. I actually don't know about the MP4 video, but yes to everything else. Also yes, it does have Microsoft Word 2013, Office 2013, OneNote 2013, PowerPoint 2013, and Excel 2013.

There are emulators that are being worked on, but do not work 100%. 2. It has Microsoft Office built in with a full license. It's a slightly modified version of the regular office, but should work pretty much the same. 3. I have personally used a Bluetooth headset and it worked fine. I'm sure either plug-in or dongle based headsets would work too. 4. MP4s work flawlessly as do MP3s, whether it's onboard, SD card, flash drive, streaming from the internet or a network storage device. 5. RT does NOT have windows media player, that's one of the things I missed the most. It also can't use VLC as that program is x86 based. They're working on an RT version, but who knows when that'll come about. It does have the built in music and video apps that come with windows 8 & 8.1. They work for several video / music formats, but especially well with MP4 / MP3 files. 6. The surface pro is obviously much more expensive, but you can do pretty much anything that can be done on a regular PC. I opted to get the ASUS Transformer Pad T100TA because it had full windows 8 on it. The Surface was very nicely constructed but just couldn't handle the things I needed. This also included active x controls which made things a little rough on some websites.

Yes it has permanent MS Office Student and Home Edition. They say is not full but we haven't found anything it can't do that my professional versions don't do that is needed for school work minus certain professional programs. The flash drive works and operates exactly like one would on a regular computer for video's, pics and Office Doc's i can only imagine it will work for anything else as long as u have an app from the Microsoft store or option to run it loaded in it. My daughter uses it in place of a laptop and has had no complaints with any music, videos, games, school websites or her Beats Solo HD headphones.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Do I need to get the Windows Pro or can I use the Surface RT to play games off my flash drive? It will only install apps from the MS store. You need a surface pro to install apps. Also does this have Microsoft Office Home and Student to stay or do I eventually have to buy Microsoft Office? Full blown office And Can any kind of headphones work with the RT? Yes Can I play MP4 videos and MP3 Songs from my Flash Drive on the RT? Yes Does the RT have Windows Media Player that I could use? Yes , WMP
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i have just bought this, so i have not used Windows RT with flash drive. but i can answer some of the questions. It does come with Microsoft office and you dont need to buy it separately. you can use any headphones with 3.5 mm jack with this. media player, i guess it is there. it has windows 8 so it should have it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you want all that future, I suggest you to purchase the highest GB surface PRO which is more future, a lot file you can save, down load, movie, song, anything more space.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The tablet comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and powerpoint). These are full versions - not just trial versions. The tablet does have a Media Player probably similar to what you are used to. The tablet is a very good buy! But, beware that the app store doesn't have too many apps yet. Things like Pandora and Spotify have not made it there yet although you can find knockoff versions of them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it has Microsoft Home, so it is okay for homework and business users. You can play MP4 and mp3from the flash drive. It has already installed media players for some formats of music and videos, but not so many like those for laptops. As for games, ...I doubt. You have to go to the app store to see whether you can find it there. It might not be compatible with Rt. Please always keep in mind that Rt is Rt. The software Rt can use is far less than pro.
