“Am I able to run Google Chrome as the primary web-browser instead of IE, NOT as an app? What I mean is: on my PC I'm able to run Chrome as the primary web-browser in place of IE. Neither run on apps. I just downloaded Chrome from its individual website. Will I be able to do the same on the Surface?”

• Internet Explorer is integrated into the operating system for Windows 8, so you'll need to run Chrome as an app on the Surface.

• You can only down load programs and apps from the Microsoft store. There are many free and cheap programs in the store, but you have to down load Chrome from from the web. You need the more expensive Surface to do that.
