“I’m hesitant to order this as says an i5 core on the spec sheet. I️ assume this is a mistake and that it is a 8th gen i7 quad core? Also what is the weight of this laptop in this configuration.”

• Check the microsoft website. This does come with an i5 if that's the model you order, but it is also available with an i7.
