• Great question! We designed Surface Book 3 to work seamlessly with Surface Pen. Surface Pen is also compatible with Surface Go 2, Surface Book, Surface Book 2, Surface Studio 1st Gen, Surface Studio 2, Surface Laptop 1st Gen, Surface Laptop 2, Surface Laptop 3, Surface Go, Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 5th Gen, Surface Pro 6,Surface Pro 7, Surface Pro X, and Surface 3.

• The Surface Book 3 supports both the classic and slim Surface Pen.

• The official Surface pen will work on these, but if you shop around there are also third party options that work just as well (IMO) for half the price.

• They do work. I've had the same pens that I have used on a Surface Pro 4 for years now. And they both work exactly the same on the the new Surface Book 3.
