out of the box, the Surface Go comes with Windows 10 S mode. The catch with S mode is that it can only run Windows Store Apps. Similar to Apple IOS apps can only run App Store Apps. However, the Surface Go can be converted to Windows 10 Home Edition at no cost and at that point will function like a regular Windows computer and allow you to install any application that you can on a traditional Windows computer, including Chrome.

You can easily switch out of S mode and into the Windows Home Edition by following instructions here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4023898/windows-10-switching-out-of-s-mode. Please be aware that once you switch out of S mode, you will not be able to switch back. We specifically designed the Surface Go to work optimally with Edge.
