I would like to say "no" here. While the Surface Go is great for basic task, the CPU (and GPU) would definitely not be suited for animation. It may let you get by with some basic photo editing, but I wouldn't press my luck. You might want to look elsewhere; maybe a "Pro" variant of the Surface if your committed to the Surface-line of products. Else, I would look into something with dedicated graphics for animation and a better CPU and, to be honest, laptops/mobile devices are fantastic for portability, but not so great for intensive applications like CAD or animation can be. If you need mobility though, I would suggest something closer to an "gaming" laptop for what you seem to want to do. Though, pricing goes way up for those variants compared to a less mobile "gaming" desktop would. Portability comes at a price and so does the power you sound like you may need.
