“Which cover works with this model? Is it still possible to switch out of S-mode and how?”

The Go series covers have not changed, so any of the Go covers work. Not the Surface Pro, or ProX ones. Yes you can switch out of S mode. It's under Settings, About. Upgrade to Home. It's free.

All prior covers work with this model. Just Google "switch out of S-mode". It is very easy and takes less than 1 minute.
