- Answer Not entirely sure what the one star reviewer was actually reviewing. The product listed here is the 16gb RAM, i7 Surface Laptop. The other device you may be referring to is either the Surface Book (detachable screen) or the Surface Pro (original kickstand Surface). This Surface Laptop is a traditional laptop similar to any other PC or MacBook.

- Answer The difference is Windows 10s will only support pre approved Microsoft applications. You can upgrade to Windows 10 for free with the push of a button. It was one of the first things I did when I got it.
