“Ok perhaps a stupid question. I've had a surface laptop (13.3) for years and love it. Here the screen resolution is listed as 2256 x 1504 (full HD). If you hook it up to an outside monitor, say, capable of 4k or UHD, might you get higher resolution?”

I do not know for sure but think not as your source is not 4K or UHD. Great question! Technology with what it is one might think it could upregulate?
