• Yes & No - I personally use Microsoft’s built in Virus Protection & Firewall. I’ve had my Surface for 5 years without a problem. Just put Microsoft updates on auto update and even then check for updates weekly as its constantly finding holes in operating system and releasing a update to fix that. I said Yes only if you plan to go to shady sites like to get free music or movies. I personally learned to pay the $2 and its WELL worth your time doing it ‘right’!
