• Memory is soldered, ssd is a much smaller size. It can be upgraded, but with cost and risk, best just to get the size you need, or use cloud/external.

• You can't upgrade the RAM memory, it is soldered on. You can upgrade the SSD, and it is an M.2 SSD. However, Microsoft has not designed the Surface Laptop 3/4 to be easy to upgrade. source: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-change-ssd-surface-laptop-4/
