Yes on the WPA. The device itself does not have an Ethernet port, you have to use the dock to get it on a wired network. The device itself has limited number of USB ports.

The Surface Pro comes with one USB port, but there is not a port for Ethernet. If you wish, the Surface Dock is a great addition that includes many ports including additional USB ports, as well as a Gigabit Ethernet port.
