Can you attach an external dvd drive? null

I have an external DVD drive connected through a USB port and it works perfectly. I am using a Buffalo drive which uses a Hitachi LG Blu-ray drive mechanism and I assume that any high quality DVD drive having a USB3 interface should work well. This is a full height drive which comes with its own power supply, although I think that the machine probably supplies enough power for a thin drive powered through the USB port.
