Format your existing hard drive. Get into the BIOS and choose "boot from USB device. Turn computer off. Install thumb drive Windows 10 into a USB 3 port (if you have one) USB 2 is fine Start your computer and it will now boot from the windows 10 on the thumb drive Good luck

Also, it may not be necessary to spend the money on a new OS. Most computer systems that have been purchased and preprogrammed , will have a factory reset. For example, if it is a Dell computer, you can go to their website, put your system info {ie; Dell Inspiron 15} and it will tell you how to reset to factory default. If it is an older computer, you may have to look online.
