You can definitely use the Xbox One X Project Scorpio console horizontally. It comes with an (optional) stand for vertical use but both usage are available. As for the Black Friday...I don't own a crystal ball but considering that the console is released pretty soon to Black Friday I don't think we will see a discount on the console itself. There might be offers that include new games, additional controller or store discounts (e.g. $50 off when you spend over $250).
