Hello gabsgranny, thank you for your question about our Midea - Duo 10,000 BTU Smart Inverter Portable Air Conditioner. The unit collects water depending on factors such as humidity, temperature, and usage frequency, so there is no fixed schedule. The unit can be drained manually by opening the drain cap at the bottom to remove water from the internal tray, then closing the cap afterward. Alternatively, for continuous drainage, you can connect a garden hose to the upper plug and direct it to a drain or sink, as long as the hose is lower than the unit to use gravity flow.
