I had an easy 6 hours of use and 2.5 mile range through our woods.

Please try again later.It would be dependent on a few things from the age of the battery to what power you have it set to and if its on continuously. 6-8 hours on high power and being on continuously would be accurate for this radio. If you are using this for the WX (weather feature) we actually recommend a desktop weather radio like the WR120 which is meant to be plugged in at all times and always on for weather/emergency alerts.
