YES! I have actually done this via the app (while I was at Physical Therapy), and had it run when I was out of the house. I was able to successfully turn it on, set the fan speed and time limits. (I haven't done it at the unit ltself -- but you can turn on the unit before you leave without using the app and set the fan speed too. It's just easier for me to use remote app control).
