The band that I own ( Apple Milanese Loop 40mm (Gold)) does not come apart. It is a single band that, once looped through the slot where it connects on the bottom of the watch is piece. The size is adjustable and kept in place by a strong magnet. The end of the band can be pulled through the slot, but it does not "accidentally" come apart and I do not see a way that a pickpocket could steal my watch with this band on it without me physically detaching the magnetic closure, and removing the watch from my wrist.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This band is in two parts with an extremely strong magnetic closing. You do not have to be afraid of it accidentally pulling apart and it would be very difficult for someone to try to pull it off your wrist.
