Usually when you see "Mill" on the coffeemaker marketing, it should mean that it grinds the beans. You can also turn the grind off if your coffee is ground. Yes, this machine is programmable to auto start any time you want! We set ours everyday for the morning 5:10 am with the beans, and it grinds and brews at once. It feels like the old Folgers commercials. Also, this coffeemaker has a keep warm burner for 120 minutes after brewing! We love this machine and had another Mill & Brew machine for 7 years before this. The cleaning on this machine is easier and with a clear carafe, you can always see how much coffee is left.
