“All I want to do is get Minecraft Java edition for my grandson. He has an Xbox, and his mom says to be sure to get the game for X series. How do I do that? I don't understand all the language and version discussion that's online. Can you help me?”

• You’re unfortunately not able to get Java edition on Xbox they are two different games pretty much. You can only get Java edition and PC (computer) and bedrock edition on Console (Xbox, play station, Nintendo)

• Java is being slowly phased out for the “Microsoft” version. Any new purchases of Minecraft will be dubbed the “Microsoft Edition”. Java version is technically not supported going forward.

• You can only get that edition(bedrock) for xbox because xbox does not support java language. Bedrock is coded in C++
